Nam Cat Tien National Park: Explore one of Viet Nam’s most treasured and impressive biodiversity zones and stay at an eco-lodge.
Nam Cat Tien National Park covers 71,920 Hectares of lowland forest and swamp in southern Viet Nam and is one of Viet Nam's most important and largest National Parks, it is home to the Javan rhinoceros which still exists in the Cat Loc area, and is the last remaining population of this species on the Asian mainland. Other mammals include Asian Elephants, Samba Deer, Sun Bears, Gaurs and tiger. Smaller mammal species in the Park includes Yellow-cheeked Gibbons, Silvery Langurs, Crab-eating Macaques, Pygmy Slow Loris, as well as civets, mouse deer, and tree shrews. The Park is a bird watchers paradise with many species of birds to be found, including such specialties as Germain's peacock pheasant, bar-bellied pitta and the rare endemic orange-necked partridge. As well as Green peafowl, Siamese firebacks, orange-necked partridge, wreathed hornbills, various woodpeckers, herons, egrets, stork, osprey, lesser fish eagle, grey-headed fish eagle, crested serpent eagle, and falcons. The Park is approximately 160 km (100 miles) or about a 3 and a half hours drive north east of Ho Chi Minh City.
Vam Sat Park:
In Can Gio District, a large territory of mangrove forests with very diverse types of fauna and beautiful bird sanctuary.
This site represents a large territory of mangrove forest with many diverse forms of fauna. It is around 50 km from Saigon by car and will take us about one and half hour to get there.
