AMI-ECOTOUR03 :: South Vietnam Wildlife Bioreserve
Introduction about Nam Cat Tien National Park:
“ The park covers 71,920 Hectares of lowland forest and swamp in southern Viet Nam and is home to numerous birds and mammals. It is approximately 160 km (100 miles) north east of Ho Chi Minh City, from which it is accessible in approximately 3 and a half hours. One of Vietnam's most important and largest National Parks, it is mostly situated at the northern edge of Ðông Nam Bô (South-eastern) region, but includes southern edge of Tây Nguyên (the Western Highlands). The Javan rhinoceros still exists in the Cat Loc area, which is the last remaining population of this species on the Asian mainland. Other mammals include: a number of primate species including the endemic golden-cheeked gibbon, elephant, gaur and tiger. Many birds can be found, including such specialities as Germain's peacock pheasant, bar-bellied pitta and the rare endemic orange-necked partridge…..”

Day 1: Arrival Saigon also known as Ho Chi Minh City
 

Meal: L, D
   You will be welcomed by our tour guide at Tan Son Nhat Airport then you be transferred to your hotel for check in. The lunch will be at a local well known restaurant. We will have a half day city tour after lunch to visit the Reunification Hall, Old Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral and followed by the chance for shopping at Ben Thanh Market.
   After our tour and shopping trip, you will come back hotel in order to refresh. Our dinner session will be served on the river cruise. It will take you along Saigon River where you will enjoy your time for fresh air and see the Saigon River by night.
   Transfer to hotel for overnight.


Day 2: Saigon – Nam Cat Tien National Park
 

Meal: B, L, D
   Breakfast at Hotel, guide and car will pick you up and transfer to Nam Cat Tien National Park, locating on a low mountainous and peneplain area of Dong Nai Province. Visit Nam Cat Tien Primeval Forest and study on thousand kinds of plants, some specious kinds as fabaceae and caesalpiniaceae. Nam Cat Tien a sunken area which represents for a special eco-system of wet forest with rich creature resource.
   Your accommodation is a comfortable thatch bungalow located next by a big and beautiful stream in the forest.
   After check in, relax then enjoy your lunch.
   A boat trip along the Dong Nai river to view the wildlife on the riverbank. Stop at the grassland area to search for Peafowl, Jungle Fowl and birds that prefer a more open habitat.
   Continue on to the Kim Lan village once a French military camped and now the main village to the one ethnic inhabitants of the park. Return to Lodge.
   Enjoy your stay, let you fall in line with the nature.
   Overnight in Nam Cat Tien National Park.


Day 3 : Nam Cat Tien
 

Meal: B, L, D
   Today, a half day tour will take you to the Crocodile Lake.
   6:00 AM, early morning depart for drive then trek to crocodile lake with plenty of opportunities to see many varieties of bird life and if you are lucky, the chance of larger mammal as well as Siamese Crocodile. The crocodiles are critically endangered and this is one of the last places in the world that you can still see them in the wild. On arriving at the lake, the breakfast is available.
   11:00 AM. Return to Lodge.
   In the evening, a walking tour along the track following the river through the botanical garden to Heaven Rapids. Good opportunities to see the birds and possibly the gibbon.
   Overnight in Nam Cat Tien.


Day 4 : Nam Cat Tien – Saigon
 

Meals: B, L, D
   The song of birds will wake you up in the morning.
   Enjoy the marvelous morning to see how the wildlife waking up while sipping your hot coffee or tea at a beautiful terrace.
   In this afternoon you can enjoy your farm tour.
   The land bordering the Park is now rich farming land growing the varieties of crops, fruits and spices. The farms are small family run business providing very modest income to the farmers. Many of products will be familiar to people but who may not be aware how they are grown and what they look like when still in natural state. Spices such as pepper, tamarind; fruits like mango, bananas, jackfruit, star fruit..
   Check out around noon. Have lunch then heading back for Saigon.
   Overnight in Saigon.


Day 5 : Saigon
 

Meals: B
Free time at leisure. Check out at noon.
   End of tour.
   Extend your tour for exploring Saigon, Mekong Delta or relaxing at a nice beach in the South of Viet Nam.
