AMI-ECOTOUR05 :: South Vietnam Eco Experience

Day 1: Arrival Saigon
 

Meal: L, D
Highlights for today: Saigon City.
   Saigon or formally known as Ho Chi Minh City, it is the biggest City in the South of Viet Nam. It has been known as the Pearl of South East before 1975.
   You will surprise and may be frighten by so many motorbikes on the road. However, do not be afraid! The population of Saigon is around 10 million people and they estimate that there are more than 7 million motorcycles in this city!
   You will be pickup and transferred to you hotel to refresh and then you will start your city tour including the Reunification Hall (Independent Palace), the War Museum, Notre Dame Church, the Main Post Office, and China Town.
   Dinner will be served on the evening cruise. It will take you along Saigon River and you will be able to enjoy your time with fresh air and see Saigon River area by night.
   Back to shore around 9:30 PM. Transfer to your Hotel for overnight.


Day 2: Vam Sat Park
 

Meal: B, L, D
Highlights for today: Ecological tourist site.
   Vam Sat ecological tourist site is located in Can Gio District that represents large territory of mangrove forest with many diverse forms of fauna. It is around 50 km far from Saigon by car.
   The car will transfer you to Thao Dien – District 2 for embarking on the catamaran. There is a lot of thing to see on both sides of the Saigon River as it will take you from the busy city region to the quiet areas. Enjoy your journey while on board sipping a cup of coffee or tea and served with croissant. It takes around 1 hour and 20 minutes from there to Vam Sat Park.
   Walking through the small path for your sightseeing, there is plenty of mangrove trees intermix with water coconut trees and the wild grass which creates a special picture along the road. When you are on the top of the ‘watch’ tower, the amazing view of the park area opens to you. From there, you can observe many kinds of wild birds.
   At lunch time, you and the other guests on the tour will be served a small picnic lunch on board the boat.
   Many attractions can be visited here such as the crocodile farm, the bats and crabs area where you can enjoy catching the mud crab yourself.
   Tour end around 4:00 PM at Thao Dien. The car will pick you up and take you to your hotel for refreshing.
   Dinner is at well known and respected local restaurant. You will overnight in Saigon.


Day 3: Cu Chi + City
 

Meal: B, L, D
Highlights for today: Cu Chi tunnels. Binh Duong & its main business workshops.
   Breakfast will be at the hotel and later in the morning, we will visit Cu Chi tunnels. These are very well known with their extensive tunnel system - more than 200km long underground with many levels. These tunnels were made during the time of Vietnamese and American war. It has become a very historic site for tourist. The guides will provide you with many original stories of how they were used.
   Around 70km from Saigon, you will enjoy the scenery along the way as the rubber tree forest or view the large naturally green fields and see the daily life of people within this area.
   Around 20’ drive from the tunnels, we will arrive to the Rescue station of W.A.R. ( Wildlife At Risk). That is a non profit organization who is dedicated to protecting the biodiversity of Vietnam by combating the illegal wildlife trade, raising environmental awareness and promoting the conservation of endangered species and their habitats.
   You may come back Saigon or having lunch at local restaurant on the way, depend on the time.
   Back to Saigon via Binh Duong City for visiting that young City. Visit a lacqueware or a Ceramic workshop.
   Overnight in Saigon.


Day 4: Mekong 2 days
 

Meals: B, L, D
Highlights for today: ‘cooking class at your home stay’
   You will have breakfast in the hotel then leave around 8:00 AM for your Mekong Delta trip.
   Nearly 140 km drive for today for Cai Be, a small town which is belong to Tien Giang Province. Road is not bad but often quite busy with many vehicles as that is the primary road to go to Mekong Delta such as Can Tho, Chau Doc, Ca Mau - the end territory of South Viet Nam.
   You will arrive Cai Be around 11:00 AM. The guide will meet upon your arrival then help with embarking on the boat for your stay. That is an old -century house with a very nice bonsai garden in front yard. It is surrounding with a large orchard which is plenty of grapefruit, orange and mandarin trees, often heavy with fruits.
   This afternoon, you will join a ‘cooking class’. Actually you will join with the owner and their relatives for preparing your dinner. They will show you how to make ‘spring roll’ , a special Vietnamese dish. Enjoy your dinner and your stay at what we called ‘home stay’.


Day 5 : Mekong – Saigon
 

Meals: B, L, D
Highlights for today: Boat trip to see the daily life and meeting the local Southern people of Viet Nam.
   A boat trip tour in early morning to show you how a floating market is (Cai Be floating market). Boat continues for visiting other places such as a rice paper shop, rice wine workshops and more. The boat will take you further up a smaller river to see the daily life of people there.
   Visiting a fish farm where they are raising ‘pasa’ fish for exporting. You will have a chance to see how people fish by net or catching the clams along the river.
   Back to your stay and do check out for Saigon.
   Lunch at local restaurant.
   You will be staying overnight in Saigon.


Day 6: Saigon – Long Hai
 

Meals: B, L, D
Highlights for today: A kind of popular religions.
   After early breakfast at Hotel, check out, the tour guide and transportation will take you to Vung Tau. On the way, The driver turn right from Nation Highway 51 to visit Long Son Island that is famous for Nha Lon (Great House), a place to worship the great men of Taoism, Confucianism, Ong Tran and his relatives from the Le Family. The house was built on an area of two hectares and includes a temple, a place to celebrate festivals with a school, a market, and Ong Tran’s graveyard. Nha Lon is a venue where every year on Trung Cuu (double nine) day (Lunar September 9) a festival attracts many people from the Mekong Delta and HCMC’s neighboring provinces and cities.
   Continue to visit the raft village on the Dinh River. Here, you can discover the daily activities of local farmers. Long Son is known by oysters. Lunch is at another well known at local restaurant.
   Continue your drive to Long Hai.
   Rest of the day, enjoy your swim at a nice beach right at your stay.
   Overnight in Long Hai.


Day 7: Long Hai – Binh Chau – Long Hai
 

Meals: B, L, D
Highlight: Natural hot Spring.
   More than 150km from Ho Chi Minh City, the Ba Ria Vung Tau Province has many advantages of potential marine travel. The South-Eastern supernatural land region is about 11.000 hectares of forest and known as the Binh Chau- Phuoc Buu natural preservation zone. It belongs to bung Rieng Commune, Xuyen Moc District, ba Ria Vung Tau Province.
   One wonderful thing in the mangrove forest, is a cluster of 70 visible gushed sprouts of water at different temperature from 400C-to 820 C and forming a huge natural hot water pot and hot mud, streaming out endlessly. According to the world scientists, hot spa water, hot mud and fresh air of forest and sea are the best elements for person’s body-resistance and health recovery.
   Enjoy your day at Binh Chau- Eco Tourist site. ( Entrance fee is included only, other fees are covered on your own account).
   Lunch at local restaurant then back to your hotel in the afternoon.
   Overnight in Long Hai.


Day 8: Long Hai – Vung Tau- Saigon
 

Meals: B, L, D
Highlights for today: Vung Tau, a beach City.
   Morning free for swimming.
   Check out at 10:00 AM then transfer to Vung Tau for sightseeing this beautiful beach City. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant.
   Back to Saigon late in the afternoon . Rest of the day free for personal leisure.


Day 9: Departure
 

Meals: B
Free at leisure until time to transfer to the Airport for the flight back home.
