Dien Bien Phu Overview: Dien Bien Phu city is located in Muong Thanh Valley with around 20km long and 6km wide. That is one of the bordered cities as it is around 35km to Laos border, 474km to Ha Noi. This is a historical site which its name was in the mind of most of Vietnamese and French people of that generation. This place was a battlefield between the Viet Minh Army and French Army in 1954 . The result was the role of French in Indochina was cut and Viet Nam was divided by two parts : North and South. Nowadays, Dien Bien Phu became one of the tourist attraction sites for many local and international tourists. There is a flight route from Ha Noi to Dien Bien Phu.

The Victory Museum

This museum was built at 1984 on the occasion of the year 30^th after Dien Bien Phu Victory.
In the end of 2003, it was upgraded and divided by 5 displayed areas. Now there are 274 objects and 122 photos due to each subject to describe about the Dien Bien Phu campaign and Dien Dien Phu nowadays.

A1 Hill

A1 Hill situated in Muong Thanh Commune, Dien Bien Phu City, Dien Bien Province. This hill was witnessed an intense battle and Viet Nam Army occupied the hill at 4:00 AM of May 7^th, 1954.

The headquarter of Dien Bien Phu Campaign

This place is situated in a primary forest in Muong Phang Commune, 25km to the East of Dien Bien City. Tourist can reach this place by car through the snaked road. There is an observatory on the top of a mountain, 1000m above the sea level. From there, tourist can see the entire scene of Muong ThanhValley.

Pa Khoang Lake

Pa Khoang Lake is situated in Muong Phang Commune, Dien Bien district. It is 20km to Dien Bien Phu City . This lake attracted a lot of photographers by its natural beauty. Specially, the people here,Thai and Kho Mu Ethnic groups,, still keep their special traditional customs of people in the Northwest.
